When you select that you want to manually select the variant for each customer, the order will automatically be held in the fulfillment error tab. This will prevent the order from being sent to Shopify, WooCommerce, etc. until you select the variant for the customer.
We suggest looking up the customers previous orders to determine the variant that specific customer should receive.
Within the next few weeks we will be rolling out our variant auto match feature. What this will do is automatically try to pull the variant for each customer that was purchased when they were subscribed to the subscription plan.
For example: If you sell T-Shirts and your customer joins the subscription by purchasing a medium, we will attempt to automatically use that medium variant on any future renewal orders.This feature will have limitations which we will share on the release, but for products with single variant options such as "size" this will all be automated soon.
Once this feature is rolled out, you should only have to manually match the variant for old AppTrends subscribers 1 time. After that the correct variant will automatically be applied and the order sent straight to fulfillment.
